Dear Plymouth Middle School Families,
I am writing to share with you that tomorrow, April 27, we are shifting to a distance-learning day for our students.
This decision was made in an effort to allow both families and staff the space and time to process the events of today. Wednesday is an asynchronous day for our secondary students.
We will resume in-person learning on Thursday, April 29.
If your child left school early today, or didn’t bring their device home with them, you can pick their devices up later today between the hours of 3:30 and 5 p.m. Or we will have a pick-up time scheduled tomorrow morning between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m.
In the event that you are unable to pick up your child’s device, please call me at 763-504-7105.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigated this difficult day. The following are some resources that you can use in conversations with your child as you discuss what happened today:
- Minnesota Department of Education’s trauma and tragedy resources
- How to talk about traumatic events and tragedies
- How to talk to children about shootings
- Talking to children about violence
