Staggered early dismissal due to winter storm (Nov. 29, 2022)

Dear Robbinsdale Area Schools families,

The region is experiencing a winter storm today, Nov. 29, 2022. As a result, Robbinsdale Area Schools will conduct a staggered early release. In addition, all afternoon and evening activities are canceled. 

Families can pick their students up early today at any time and all absences will be excused. There is no need to call the school if you want to pick your child up.

Details for early dismissal

  • Elementary schools will be released one hour early at 1:05 p.m., with these exceptions:
    • FAIR School Pilgrim Lane will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
    • Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion (RSI) and the School of Engineering and Arts (SEA) will be dismissed at 2:40 p.m.
    • SEA Grade 5 at FAIR Crystal will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m.
  • High schools will be released one hour early at 2:25 p.m. with the following exceptions:
    • Robbinsdale Transition Center (RTC) will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
    • Robbinsdale Academy-Highview will be dismissed 90 minutes early at 2 p.m. to allow for transfer busing.
  • Middle schools will have their normal release time of 4:05 p.m. with the following exception:
    • FAIR School Crystal will be dismissed one hour early at 1:45 p.m. because the school shares buses with FAIR School Pilgrim Lane. 
  • Early Learning preschool programming will keep the same dismissal schedule for the morning. 
  • Voluntary pre-kindergarten (VPK) will dismiss and transport with their buildings. Check the schools for those times.

Cancellations

  • All afternoon and evening athletics and activities are canceled.
  • Afternoon preschool at New Hope Learning Center is canceled.
  • Afternoon Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) and early intervention programming are canceled. 

Other details

  • Robbinsdale Virtual Academy (RVA) grades 3-12 will continue with its normal schedule.
  • Adventure Club and Early Adventures programming will remain open for one hour after early release. Families will receive separate communication with additional information.
  • The Basement programming at Plymouth and Sandburg middle schools is canceled.
