Every Meal: Fighting Food Insecurity

We are excited to partner with Every Meal to offer a free weekend food program to all our students.

Every Meal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to fight child hunger through community and school partnerships. They strive to make a difference in children’s lives by focusing on food gaps like weekends, school breaks, and summer when they can’t receive food in school.

Icon bus

We have been monitoring the arrival of buses the first two weeks of school. We are now at a point where most buses are dropping students off at school in enough time for them to get to class by 9:20.

If a student's bus is late, they will be given a bus pass which will be excused.

Students who are in the building, late, and without a bus pass will be marked tardy.

Stay tuned - there may be a change in breakfast procedure as well to ensure students are eating breakfast and getting to class on time.

Armstrong and Cooper Events

We love to support our local high schools by attending events. It creates school spirit and a sense of community. With that said, both Armstrong and Cooper High Schools require elementary and middle school students to be accompanied by a paid adult at every event. Athletics and activities are not intended to be drop-off events for our elementary and middle school students.

Students getting on a bus

I am happy to report that we currently have drivers to staff all transportation routes and busing to school activities. In addition, we believe we have hired enough staff to be able to cover our routes if our drivers call out sick or need to take extended leaves.
